Wet Hot Carolina Summer

It's only June and there's already a giant purple dildo floating over the Southeast...

...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE REGION WILL CONTINUE TO BRING HOT CONDITIONS TO THE AREA. AFTERNOON HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL APPROACH 100 DEGREES WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 107 FOR MUCH OF THE AREA. TEMPERATURES AND HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL DROP BELOW CRITICAL LEVELS BY 8 PM THIS EVENING.

Summer isn’t officially here, but it feels like it. It’s hot.An unusual early June heat wave hit western North Carolina and the Southeast on Wednesday for what could be an extended stay. Temperatures will remain in the 90s at least until the middle of next week. Today, the high is expected to reach 94 degrees. Friday’s projected high is 95 degrees.

Things have been quite warm lately but we haven’t seen anything yet. High pressure will set up shop right over the southeast and provide sinking hot air to the Carolinas. Our average high should be around 85, but we will be closer to 95 the next 2 days.
